What do you hope to get out of this meetup?

I am probably starting a PhD in September and I need to get proficient in Python before I begin. I have done a beginners course in python and my plan is to work on some mini-projects over the summer in order to practice. I think that joining a group like PyLadies could provide inspiration for me and enable me to join a community.

What's your experience?

Very little - for my thesis last summer, I used some python code which I worked on with my supervisor.

My name is Emma and I'm 34 years old. My background is in languages and Linguistics, and I am currently working on some historical digitisation projects.
