It was a great first meetup. I like the idea of having talks, but like others I would also like to pair program and participate in interactive sessions. Thank you Yves for starting this meetup, and also thank you once again for the book!

Thanks for organising this, Yves. All the best with your O'Reilly book. Will be great to do some coding next time (perhaps while indulging in copious amounts of pizza?)

    Dear Python Quants,

I am excited about our upcoming first Python for Quant Finance meetup next week.

Please make sure to update your RSVPs if necessary. This helps us planning for the drinks ...

In addition, we are still open to suggestions or for additional (brief/lightning) talks -- just raise your hands.

    Best,

    Yves

    Dear All,

The date and venue for the first "Python for Quant Finance" meetup are set now. We decided to start already in May instead of June.

Expect an interesting lineup of speakers and talks about IPython.parallel, Bitcoin Analytics, a new Python Quant Platform and probably more (details to follow).

If you are interested in giving a brief talk (15min + 5min Q&A) or a lightning talk (3-5min), just let me know.

We are planning a (book) raffle. I'll also handout 50% discounts for my new O'Reilly book "Python for Finance".

Looking forward to seeing you all at Level39 on 13th of May!

    Yves
