Third Python for Quant Finance Meetup

Dear All,

We now have a date and a venue for the next Python for Quant Finance meetup. It will take place on 9. September 2014, 7pm, at Thomson Reuters (Canary Wharf).

Among others there will be a talk by Dave Hunter about "Dark Pools". Wiley provided some nice Quant Finance books for a raffle.

Expect more information to come soon. Thanks to all the sponsors.

Best,

Yves

Harvey can I take your place?

Sebastian, I think the next person on the waiting list will take my place automatically. So if you have not got the RSVP confirm, that mean you might need to wait until more people free up the space in the queue. I am sure you will get a spot though ;)

Free places now have gone to those longest on the waitlist. Again, make sure to update your RSVP if there are (last minute) changes. We'll keep track of no-shows. Thanks!

    Python Quants,

The waitlist for our third Python for Quant Finance meetup has become even longer over the last couple of days.

Please make sure to update your RSVP if you cannot attend the event. This will allow others to join this third meetup next Tuesday.

The RSVP list will be the basis for security checks at the Thomson Reuters building and badges will be printed based on the list.

Thank you all for you help and understanding.

    Best,

    Yves

Hi, I RSVP-ed with a +1, how will this work with the security checks/printed badges?

      September 7, 2014

    • Yves H.

The badge might then have to be produced at the front desk when you arrive. Shouldn't be an issue as long as you are on the list.

    Dear Python Quants,

Next Tuesday, 09.09., 7pm, is our third meetup.

We currently have the following program:

    1) Dave Hunter -- Dark Pools
    2) Matt Sundquist -- Plotting with http://plot.ly & Python

I will also give an update on some topics:

    a) Python Quant Platform (tests are now available)
    b) For Python Quants conference (coming to London on 28.11. 2014)

If you have never heard of the "For Python Quants" conference, check out the Web site http://forpythonquants.com.

We have books from Wiley Finance to raffle off and hopefully enough time to disuss all things Python and Quant.

The event has a long waitlist (longer than the number of places we have that night). So please make sure to update your RSVPs if there are any changes.

    Best,

    Yves

    Dear All,

I am happy to announce our second speaker Matt Sundquist, founder of http://plot.ly. He will give a demo of their visualization technology for Python which is also written in Python.

Make sure to update your RSVPs since the event has quite a long waitlist already.

    Thanks,

    Yves
