QuantifiedSelf-Austin Show & Tell #5

  • Jan 29, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Hello Austin QSers:  Join us January 29th, 2013.

GSD&M is hosting our venue that evening:  Thanks go out to Travis Scoggins.

And street parking is available around the corner on Henderson Street.

If you are self-tracking in any way, come and share your methods, results and insights.

6:00PM - 6:30PM  Social and Networking

6:30PM - 7:30PM  QS Show & Tell Talks

7:30PM - 8:30PM  Open Forum / Discussion

We save the talks for personal accounts of self-tracking and self-experimentation.

If you'd like to give a talk, let me know in your RSVP.

We'll keep the presentations to 8 minutes + 8 minutes Q&A.  If you have slides to show, feel free, but it's not required.

Talking points are simple:

1. What did you do?
2. How did you do it?
3. What did you learn?

I will see you there.

Great meeting all - thanks for allowing me to attend. I wanted to provide you the Dr. that is one of the foremost on bringing wireless technology into medicine as we know it (regardless of FDA red-tape). His name is Dr. Eric Tolov, and here's one of his TED speeches: http://www.ted.com/talks/eric_topol_the_wireless_future_of_medicine.html

Terrific yet again! Will echo what was said, BRILLIANT folks each doing different but extremely cool things. Wanted to post the MD integrating QS into his practice via QS coaches to organize the data. Dr. Paul Abramson http://quantdoctor.com/ and some good MED/Quant slides http://www.slideshare.net/paulabramsonMD

Agree, there was some serious quantified firepower in attendance tonight. Wanted to share a site that is a quantified story from a former client of mine, testing the theory behind the movie Supersize Me

Had an AWESOME time at tonites meetup.Seriously the smartest coolest people I have ever met. This is a must go to event. I personally am going to advocate this event as one of the most go to events in Austin! Can't wait until next event. Props Mark!

I've never been to a meeting before, but am extremely interested! Is it ok if I don't have anything to share, but would like to hear about the ideas and observe?

Caroline... Welcome. These MeetUps are a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, network, and listen to what others are doing with self-tracking, self-experimentation, etc. Usually 4-6 folks will talk specifically about their activities; then whoever else wants to join in, can. I will see you there.
