Data Science: Do It Yourself or Leave It To The Experts? http://t.co/p5NcxgHVn5 I know we have some experts here, what do you think? Data science as a service?

There is a comment under http://bit.ly/12JAvYx that references @statwing which is a service aimed at people who mostly use spreadsheets.

Great find, thanks! Data science as a service is definitely a thing these days, these guys http://datahero.com/ being the one most talked about...

The concern I usually get when pitching AchieveMint that you can game our system by strapping the FitBit to
a dog and earn points has suddenly become a lot more substantiated :D

Thanks Sila! Here's a source link to that Nike quote - As Nike learned from studying millions of users, the magic number of times a runner needs to see her data before becoming a more "science-based" runner is just five. Once a person crosses that threshold they are "massively more likely" to keep running by metrics than by feel alone.

If you follow the directions link in the email announcement for this 05-Jun-13 meetup, it takes me to Elizabeth Plumber PHD at the corner of Anacapa and De La Guerra Streets. Not 104 W. Anapamu.

    June 5, 2013

    • Bob K.

Can you forward that announcement to me? 104 W. Anapamu is the correct address, which is posted on the meetup page. The cross street is Chapala.

      June 5, 2013

    • Bob K.

Just looked at the Google map with the pointer -yes- it was way off for some reason. I dragged the pointer to Chapala and Anapamu and saved it.
