My background is in digital libraries/information systems/open access but I became interested in the 'quantified self' while doing the ProClub's 20/20 Lifestyles program in Bellevue to help lose weight and improve my health.
I've gathered data in the 20/20 Lifestyles system including activities, food and basic measurements. I currently also use the fitbit for basic health measurements, activities and sleep. Hiked the length of the Russian Railway - according to my fitbit.
Measurements were key to my improving my diabetes so that it is now under control with diet and exercise. It has also been helpful in getting and keeping fit for hiking and climbing in the Pacific North West mountains. I'm also interested in aspects of sharing the information and how to improve recording systems.

I'm interested both personally and professionally in personal informatics. I'm a fitbit enthusiast - hiking high - and am intrigued by all the aspects that other people measure.
