I love data analysis and visualization. I'm trying to transition from academics to a more applied research environment (i.e., industry). As part of the process - and for love of data fun - I'm also always looking for new visualization projects to be part of and techniques to learn. Visualizing my own data strikes me as awesome both for developing skills and enhancing metacognition.
Yup. I track how I spend my time on my computer and I'm currently tracking my cats bathroom habits (developing baseline data to support training them to use the toilet rather than a litter box). I also track goal v. completion data for a variety of ongoing projects and have just started tracking reading speed while doing speed reading training.
As noted in my introduction: (1) practicing applied data analysis and visualization and (2) enhancing metacognition.
data visualization techniques (all kinds), statistical computing, building data gathering/analysis software, R, Python, data management, soccer, squirrels, reading
I'm a merry fellow who likes data analysis and visualization, soccer, books, PC gaming, and squirrels. I'm looking for opportunities to grow my data skills and my more modest programming skills - ideally while contributing to some nifty projects. =)
