I enjoyed hearing what everyone had to say about their interests and pursuits, and the resulting conversations. Very stimulating!

It was great to have so many people there. The presentations were interesting and helpful. QS LA meetups keep getting better each time!

It's gratifying to see the LA meetup finally reaching critical mass, growing from 4-7 attendees to 30.

Marina's presentation on quantifying happiness was noteworthy for going beyond tracking of mood. Her project has users to quantity engagement within values like health, community, etc.--from which a happiness metric is derived.

Ernesto had an insightful presentation on his experiences with the Fitbit, complete with some custom visualizations he had done with the help of a Google Spreadsheets script (see his writeup and screencast at http://goo.gl/tQtMJ) and a data viz guru (@chloester).

Everyone in attendance had some interesting take on self-tracking, where they were experienced or waiting to take the plunge. Thanks again to Eric for his outstanding job in organizing this.

Alex, that would be awesome. On a related note, about 6 months ago I created 2 open source apps for Neurosky for visualizing and saving brainwave data from Neurosky devices. The processing-based brainwave visualizer (http://eric-blue.com/2011/07/13...) and MindStream (http://eric-blue.com/2011/07/24...).

    I'd be interested.

Looking forward to the event. If there's interest I can share data from the Neurosky brainwave device.

Hi Ernesto. That would be great.

My wife Diane & I have been collecting data with our Fitbits since early November, but haven't done anything with it yet. It would be great to discuss what we all can learn from our Fitbits & similar devices.

Ernesto, I finally got a FitBit yesterday, so I'd love to hear more about your FitBit experiences.

If I can get my data together I would like to talk about the intra-day data I've gathered from FitBit (patterns of PA throughout the day).
