The meetup will take place in the conference room of www.panstwomiasto.pl at 29 Andersa Street.
16:00-16:30 – Social time and a science fair/workshop.
16:30-16:45 – Welcome and announcements.
16:45-17:00 – Brief self-intros.
17:00-18:00 – Tool demo: www.braintracking.pl- Working on an EEG/EMG headband for self-tracking of emotions.
A project aimed at creating a headband which would allow the monitoring of one's own emotions, thanks to a new indicator based on EEG/EMG data. The headband could also serve as a controller for other devices (music players, cameras, etc.) which would be activated depending on the measurements of different emotional states. An open API would enable the development of further applications of the indicator and for the headband.
18:00-19:00 – Show&Tell Talks:
18:00-18:30 – Jan Szelągiewicz: How to lose 40 kg thanks to self-tracking (RunKeeper, MyFitnessPal, NTC).
Reinvention is overrated, weight loss is all about course correction. In recent years, technology has allowed us to record and monitor a veritable torrent of data about our activities, performance, and a plethora of other parameters. Tracking what you eat, however, is a quagmire of habits, prejudice, and external influences. This short talk will deal with some of the issues surrounding device-aided weight loss.
18:30-19:00 – Mathieu Spencer: How I failed as a Digital Doctor!
In August 2013, with my collaborator Isia Smieszchalska, we were caring for I, Culture Orchestra; to help the musicians and staff maintain their best psychological and physical condition during their residency. To prolong these services during the tour, I decided to help them from a distance. After giving them a few simple exercises, I asked them to download the Nightingale app http://www.nightingaleapp.com which would remind them to do them and give me information: are they doing the exercises or not. From there I could contact them and ask if they needed some tips or help. During the short talk, I will explain how I conducted this little experience, what did I learn and why I believe I failed. :)
Let us know if you want to demo some tools during the science fair/workshop time - we will set up a corner for you. :)
And if you would like to give a show&tell presentation, please send us a message with a short summary of what you would like to talk about. You can find a detailed description of a typical show&tell here: http://quantifiedself.com/2011/09/our-three-prime-questions
