Re: [QuantumPhysicsMeetupGroup] Finding a dedicated, quiet venue for meetups

The Mason Arms is a pub in SOHO which has an upstairs area that is often unused. The owner is often willing to let groups use it for free. Its very quiet and the pub downstairs serves food.
Here is a link?

Dear All,

Apologies for not being in touch over the past week.

One thing that I have been doing is trying to find a quiet, dedicated venue where we can have talks, meetups and discussions without the noise of the pub to interfere with us. I approached Conway Hall about renting a conference room, but the price of the room would have increased the current individual contribution of ?2 about fourfold for the number of members we usually get, which I think would be unacceptable. I have also checked with Bloomsbury Baptist Church facilities, used by a number of meetups, but the cost is also prohibitive. It may be the case that we could approach Starbucks coffee houses and the like, but I understand that they do not usually allow bookings in advance, and the noise situation is not guaranteed to be better there either.

I wish to ask you all to submit any ideas you may have (I know that a few of you have already given ideas for venues) for cheap or free venues that we can hold meetings in Central London. Any help or suggestions you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
