New Year Meditation Class

So you don't know how to meditate... or maybe you do.  Let's start off this year in the right direction by (Re-)introducing three types of meditation practice.  Light & Sound, Chanting & Contemplative Prayer.

We discuss the three approaches and then get right to the meditation practice.

For this session, I am requesting that all attendees arrive before 7:00 p.m.  If the meditation in progress note is on the door, I request you join us for the next session.

Light and love to you all.  I look forward to seeing you!

If you are joining the meditation class tomorrow, please bring pillows and blankets if you want to meditate on the floor. You may also bring pillows/blanket for chair meditation as the room gets a bit cool and the chairs can be uncomfortable when sitting for extended period(s) of time. I'm looking forward to seeing you all Tuesday!

I should attend. Meditation -"practice" in Buddhism - is the focused or "right" mind that is wiling to be reality and not be stuck in samsara - illusion. Its the same in Eastern, Western, or Native American traditions and there is no magic. Meditate anytime you chose for as long or as short a time as you have. Three seconds is fine. Meditate while driving, I do, as many Buddhist forms are with open eyes. It improves driving as the mind is more focused. A quantum is a discrete quantity, such as time, energy, or mass. The quantity can not exist at a lower level. In quantum mechanics its about the wave function, a complex set of differential equations which determine the probability that a particle will be observed in space time. It is a odd world that no one understands - strange beyond strange. Like the wind in the famous biblical quote, where it comes from or where it goes, no one knows, but the equations work.
