This is an informal study/practice group. Each week, we try to focus on something specific (pronouns, a particular verb tense, vocabulary, cultural/regional differences, etc.). Both English & Spanish are spoken.

This group is followed by Que Tal Conversation group.

Wikipedia says the Andean panflute is also called a zampoña. Google translates (Spanish) zampoña to (English) dulcimer (a stringed instrument)! It cannot translate dulcimer back to Spanish. It does translate (English) panpipe to (Spanish) zampoña, though.

I started to include some of that discussion here, but it was a bit too much text, I think. One question though:

What's the difference between nos and nosotros? It seems google may be confused too, since it translates "nos referimos" and "nosotros referimos" both to "we refer", whereas it translates "nos nadamos" to "we swam" and "nosotros nadamos" to "we swim"?

    Underdog [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underdog_(TV_series)] says in rhyme:

"Not plane, nor bird, nor even frog,
It's just little old me... Underdog."

My attempt (with poetic license) to translate in rhyme for the Nothing Dog (inspired by a mistranslation of "El perro nada."):

"No avión, ni aves, ni siquiera ensalada,
Es sólo poco viejo yo ... El Perro Nada."

Cómo se dice "Nice to meet you all. I hope to see you again."?
Google dice: "Fue agradable conocerlos a todos. Espero volver a verte."
También, gracias a Daniela para (por?) facilitar la reunión y por las palabras nuevas.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
