Photograph sunrise at Deception Bay (Guest Hosted)

The tides are right, the planets have aligned and Paul De Odorico has kindly offered to guest host a Meetup event, and share with a very limited number (6) of you, a little gem at Deception Bay.

In addition to the usual camera gear, you will need to bring appropriate footwear for sandy/muddy terrain, aeroguard, a torch and your creativity - there will be some walking involved.

Meeting Point will be at the Shell Service Station (1097 Nudgee Rd Banyo) 4am sharp, and you will be guided from there.

Fingers crossed for a stunning sunrise. I look forward to seeing some cracking shots.

Destin.

More stars if not for the rain. Company was great.

It was raining on the way there and for a while after we arrived. We decided to walk out to the waters edge while it was still drizzling in the hope it would stop... and it did. We missed the best of the best light as we had to wait for the rain to go. Could have done with more water around the trees but all in all it was better than a poke in the eye.

    Hi Paul,

Is there any chance you could tell those of us who can't join the shoot where this tree is located? I keep seeing it in photos, but despite my frequent and extensive rambles through the SEQ mangroves, I can't seem to find it. Would you be kind enough to share its location? Thank you very much in advance!

    Thanks Destin....
The other handy item to bring is a folding chair to put your camera bag on as there is nowhere to put it down without it getting wet.
