[NOTE: Fee is waived for your first Quite Write meeting!]

Bring whatever you write with: there is power for laptops, and some of us use pen and paper. Your choice. Bonus: There is no Internet access, so you can omit a huge distraction without even trying. And, although we are not a discussion group, there are many areas where people can go if they want to chat without being disruptive.

Officially we start going over our goals at 6:30, but if I often push the start time back to wait for late comers. We tend to chat about writing and eat baked goods before we get to work.

You'll be amazed at how much you can accomplish with one manageable commitment like this. Here's a personal snapshot from the first organizer of Quite Write, Sharon: "Much to my surprise, I discovered that after coming regularly for a while I was able to write even on the most brain-dead of nights. No matter how much I hated the thought of schlepping out at the end of a long day, trying to be creative no less, the habit took over and writing just happened, usually downright effortlessly. And now, a year later, I almost never have to drag myself, I really can't wait to go write on Tuesdays."

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
