What: Surah AL Zalzalah Ayas 7?8

When: Sunday, August 22,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Islamic Center of Southern California
434 S. Vermont Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90020

Our special guest Dr Sultan Abdulhameed will be presenting his analysis on Sura 99 Ayas 7?8.

Anyone who does an atom?s weight of good will see it, And anyone who does an atom?s weight of harm will see it

These ayas point to the atomicity of life. Just as a castle is built by placing one brick next to another, life comes to us one moment after another. Each moment is brief, and it offers us choices. If you and I do something good in this moment, it will create goodness in the future. If we do something that harms us or someone else, it will produce its fruit in due time. What we will do at a given time is a small step, and therefore, it is easy to control. How this insight can be used to overcome feelings of overwhelm and gain greater control over your life will be discussed in our meeting.

Dr Sultan Abdulhameed teaches the Quran at the Muslim Reform Movement Organization in New york in their weekly meetings. His method of teaching focuses on one aya at a time in the interactive method of learning from each person's insight about the aya being discussed. Dr Sultan Abdulhammed has also written a book called "The Quran and The Life of Excellence" and he will be presenting excerpt from his book.

We encourage all members to research and contribute on the aya of discussion as well. New members are requested to read about the meetup agenda, rules and suggestions found in the "About" section of the meetup page before attending the meetup.
