MARCH - Implementing in-database predictive scoring using R, Postgres, and PL/R

  • Mar 27, 2013 · 5:45 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We look forward to seeing you at our first meeting in 2013.

Talk Outline: Why move the data to the analytics if you can move the analytics to the data?

Moving data around is time consuming, expensive and it isvery easy to make a mistake. Data pipelines tools or tools like Drake (make for data) simplify this process but merging scored dataset back to main source of truth (DWH) can be challenging.

This presentation shows to implement in-database predictive scoring using R, Postgres and PL/R. You will learn about other tools (e.g. MADLib) and PMML (Predictive Model Markup Language) as well.

About our speaker: Ondrej Ivanic has more than 10 years experience in software development (team leader, analyst, developer) together with 8 years experience in data mining and data visualisation techniques.

Ondrej has worked in fraud analysis in Australia and banking in Europe and is a result oriented, out of the box thinker who is passionate about data.

Meet from 5:45pm for a 6pm talk.

Join us afterwards at a nearby pub for networking opportunities.

Alina - if your friend is interested in attending, invite them to join the suRf group instead and take the responsibility of RSVPing for themselves while there are still places. We look forward to having them as a new member.
