Tips for Coding & Debugging in R (and a sneak preview of REvolution's new GUI)

7:00pm - Seven Tips for Surviving R

John Mount, of Win-Vector LLC, will kick-off the Meetup at 7 with his Seven Tips for Surviving R, sharing some of his hard-learned lessons for working in the R environment.

7:15pm - Debugging in R

Then at 7:15, David M Smith, Director of Community for REvolution Computing, will give a preview of the forthcoming REvolution R Enterprise 3.0. This high-performance distribution (based on R 2.9.2) features a brand-new user interface for users on Windows. David will demonstrate some of the new features in this release, including tools for building applications in R, and the brand-new interactive debugger.

The session will conclude with a discussion of best practices for writing & debugging R programs by Norm Matloff, co-author of The Art of Debugging, with GDB, DDD and Eclipse (No Starch Press) and charter member of our group.
