We will be hosting Drew Conway, a doctoral candidate in political science at NYU, for an exposition on using R for social network analysis.
Topics covered will include:
Drew gave an earlier version of this talk several months ago at the R Users Group of New York's event.
Special thanks to DJ Patil and Pete Skomoroch of LinkedIn, who have generously provided their facilities and refreshments for this event.
Pizza will be provided, as at past events, by REvolution Computing - with thanks as usual to David Smith. We will be collecting a (voluntary) $5 contribution at the door to cover our speaker's flight.
If you don't have a Meetup Account, please RSVP via Upcoming.org

Is anyone heading down there from Oakland or SF that could drive some carless folks? I'd be glad to buy the driver a coffee/beer/burrito/gas
if someone need a ride FROM there to the South Bay, I can help
Would love to go if I could get a ride from Berkeley/Emeryville area.
Anyone have an extra seat in a car from and back to SOMA? Or from SOMA to meetup to the East Bay?
I can pickup up to 3 people from SOMA at 5:45 pm - meet me outside Moscone South's pickup/dropoff zone.
It was great to see so much interest in R. next time let's have it somewhere Bart accessible!
I've posted on a report on the meeting here: http://bit.ly/mepBH
. Thanks to Mike and Jim for organizing, and especially to Drew and Annie for such great talks.
I have uploaded the correct output files from the attempted live SNA of the #DrewSNA hash-tag to the files directory. Jeff Gentry (@geoffjentry) the developer of the twitteR package has fixed the bugs that were causing errors and added the new version to CRAN. If you are using my script you MUST update to the 0.1.3 version in order for it to work properly.
Great meeting all of you, and thanks again!
