Social Network Analysis with R (at LinkedIn)
We will be hosting Drew Conway, a doctoral candidate in political science at NYU, for an exposition on using R for social network analysis.
Topics covered will include:
- Data structures in R for Networks
- Network Analysis with iGraph
- Network Analysis with the Statnet Suite
- Performance tips
Drew gave an earlier version of this talk several months ago at the R Users Group of New York's event.
Special thanks to DJ Patil and Pete Skomoroch of LinkedIn, who have generously provided their facilities and refreshments for this event.
Pizza will be provided, as at past events, by REvolution Computing - with thanks as usual to David Smith. We will be collecting a (voluntary) $5 contribution at the door to cover our speaker's flight.

I have uploaded the correct output files from the attempted live SNA of the #DrewSNA hash-tag to the files directory. Jeff Gentry (@geoffjentry) the developer of the twitteR package has fixed the bugs that were causing errors and added the new version to CRAN. If you are using my script you MUST update to the 0.1.3 version in order for it to work properly.
