Donate Ties

The Covenant House needs ties for the young resident's to wear on job interviews. If you can raid the closet of your husband, father, or boyfriend and donate their unused ties please do. http://www.ktva.com/news/local/Lonely-Tie-Hangs-Alone-at-the-Covenant-House--212855521.html#commentform

simply drop off new or used ties to this location and you are participating. BIG thanks to Mike Kennard for giving BIG 200+ ties is not a small gift.

I think they are good on ties (I delivered 200+ from my personal collection today[masked]), but they still have other needs.

For those of you who are not aware the needs of convenant house are continuous. While the tie drive has an end date our giving does not have to. Before you turn stuff over to Salvation army consider giving it to this location. I have seen some of those kids out there and they need clothes of all sorts. ladies bras are also in large demand and feminine products as well. this fall we will be doing a drive for those specific items. Any suggestions as to a name? For these types of events if a drop off location is not listed get in touch with Aurora, Sarah, Georgia or Kristel Clark to arrange pick up of donations. this site is full of great people

Thank you Mike Kennard for the generous donation. WOW. They may not need any after this. How about anyone adding socks? or Clean mens shirts?

There is an extensive list of other items needed at Covenant House on their website including clothing items, personal hygiene products, educational materials, recreational materials, cleaning supplies, household supplies, and needs for young children. I encourage group members to look over the list to see if there are items that they can donate to the homeless youth of Alaska.

I am out of town until July 10 so you should take the ties to the Crisis Center at 609 F Street. Please ask for a picture to post on our meet up so that other members can see how this group is helping in our community. Thank you for your generosity.
