Let's get outdoors, hike some great trails and socialize at the same time.
The Saturday hiking series continues with hiking a combination of trails starting at North Cary Park, continuing onto the Black Creek Greenway which runs along side of Lake Crabtree, and then entering Umstead via Old Reedy Creek Rd.
The entire hike will be ~8 miles. Part of the trail is paved and part is a hard pack dirt trail (Umstead's Reedy Creek Lake Trail). Most of the hike is flat, but there are some small hills.
Please arrive at 10:00 am. We will depart promptly at 10:10 am and finish around 12:45. Please bring water and wear sturdy shoes.
There is a restroom at the North Cary Park.
From 40 take exit 287 Harrison Avenue. Turn south on to Harrison, toward Weston Parkway away from Umstead. Take a right on to Weston Parkway. Take a left on Norwell Blvd. The park is on the left near the end of Norwell where it intersects with Cary Parkway.
After the hike we will meet at the Carolina Cafe and Bakery which is located off of Weston Parkway. Near the corner of Weston and Harrison.
