The Green Chair Project Raleigh - Volunteer Event

Please join us!  Many of us are looking to make a difference in the world.  If you would like to volunteer at a Raleigh non-profit to help those in need, now is your chance to do it through the Raleigh-Durham Singles Meetup Group!  You can bring your teenagers who are looking for community service projects too!

We are going to meet at the Green Chair Project off of Capital Blvd (southbound) inside the beltline in Raleigh from 10:00 am -1:00 pm, Saturday, Feb 15thPlease wear work clothes. Some of us may be cleaning furniture, sorting items, staging items in the showroom, painting, or doing one of many other jobs. This will be fun!

All new volunteers: Please sign the waiver before attending (only need to fill this out one time prior to volunteering your first time)

There are a wide variety of tasks, and you get to select the type of task that interest you, such as:  organizing donations, staging donations like a furniture store, cleaning, fixing things, unloading, loading, and/or moving furniture or boxes, among many other tasks suitable for women and men of all ages.  Please join us and see how much fun it can be to work together and help this worthwhile cause!  I look forward to volunteering with you!

Please consider bringing some household items as donations (see the link at the bottom for acceptable items).

I am glad I attended this meetup. I was received by the staff and allowed to chose an assignment. Friendliness was the order of the day. I will volunteer again at this place.

Doug, I really hate to cancel this late, but i awoke early with a very painful sore throat. I just finished a course of antibiotics for strep, and I'm afraid i need round 2. I am taking a medical team to Beirut Monday for 2 weeks, and so think doing all the "doctor's orders" things (rest, fluids, handwashing) are good for me to follow right now. This is one of my favorite activities, so i am truly sorry to miss it. John

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
