Picnic for 40s/50s/60s at Annie Louise Wilkerson park

Bring picnic items and let's celebrate Spring!  The shelter has a limit of 60, so please respect the RSVP list.  Thanks so much.  Of course, this is a public place and you can still come enjoy the park and NOT participate in the picnic. After lunch, we can enjoy several nice trails in the park.  One trail connects to the mountains-to-sea trail alongside Falls Lake for those who want a longer hike.  There will be maps available.  ALCOHOL IS NOT ALLOWED.  PETS MUST BE ON LEASHES.  WE MUST VACATE THE PICNIC SHELTER BY 1:20.

Park rules require a short, 10-minute presentation in the shelter before we begin our lunch.

I will bring ice, paper products, a few 2L soft drinks and some water.  Please bring $1 to help offset shelter rent and cost of supplies.

So we don't have just desserts or just chicken, please consider the below guidelines.  Of course, if you have a specialty, bring that, or if you have no time, bring something quick.  The important thing is to come and enjoy each other!

Last name A-H - Protein / main dishes;   Last Name I - N - Salads / vegetables

Last Name O-S - Desserts;   Last name T - Z - Chips / soft drinks

Details on parking:  Parking near the shelter is very limited but you can drive pretty close, drop off your dishes, park in the more distant lot and then walk back.  Parking is somewhat limited in the entire park, so if you want to consider carpooling, that would be great.  The Kohl's parking lot at Durant and Falls of Neuse is fairly close if you want to meet a friend and then drive in.

See you then if not before!!

It was great fun. Only had 20 attend, but it was a good, friendly crowd. Met some new folks and had fun hanging out with friends. nice walk afterwards topped off the event.

I "never" give 5 stars to anything on the theory that you have to leave room for the exceptional. This was exceptional.

Sorry for not responding to specific questions earlier. Have been out of town visiting family focusing on other things. Now it's time for some fun!! It looks like great weather. yes, everything should be cooked. No plans for grilling. And, bringing a 12-year old is perfectly fine - there is no alcohol and it's a public place, although I would think he'd be bored. Look forward!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
