Saturday Morning Hike @ Umstead State Park- Cary

Let's get outdoors, hike some neat trails and socialize at the same time.

We hope that the weather will cooperate!! This is a great opportunity to hike some of the nice trails that we have in the area with your friends from RDU Singles.

Hike using the Bridle & Loblolly Trails in Umstead Park for approximately 7 miles. These Bridle Trails are wide, hard dirt trails, no roots or rocks.

This will be a nice, moderately paced hike. Please dress appropriately for hiking and bring water if you would like to have it on the trail.

PLEASE No Dogs or Children- we already take up too much room on trails as it is

Driving and Parking directions:

We’ll meet in parking lot for Umstead Park that is right off of Harrison Avenue. VERY EASY TO FIND!! Take exit 287 off I-40 and head North in the opposite direction of downtown Cary and you will immediately be inside the Park and at the parking lot. Just turn right off exit ramp if you were heading west on I-40, turn left over bridge if you were heading east.

(there are restrooms and a water fountain at the parking lot).  Meeting area is at Loblolly trail entrance.  Drive through parking lot to far right side, where you will see a gazebo and entrance to trail.

We will leave at 10:10 sharp, so please be on time. Hike will run approximately 2 1/2 hours.

Please take a little extra time to get to the event this morning we do not want to leave anyone behind leaving promptly @10:10. The large parking lot has been filling up lately on Saturday mornings so you may need to park along the entrance way.

Great RSVP!! If someone will volunteer to lead we can expand this event to 2 hikes like we did last week and set RSVP @50 people or so. I would supply a map and exact details on the trail

Steve, If no one steps up I'll lead the second group. Keep in mind I've only been on a couple of these hikes

How can there be a waiting list? Isn't this a public open trail?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
