We will be hiking through 3 different Counties (Wake, Chatham, Durham) in a 6.5 hike from White Oak (5.0) to Scott King Rd (11.5). We are setting up a shuttle service (fellow hikers) to get you back to White Oak at the end of the hike.
Mountain bikers can set up a separate ride using the ATT trail as well. White Oak to Scott King and back 13 miles?
The trail was built on an old railroad line and therefore is the flattest trail you will ever ride or hike. VERY EASY
The ATT trail in Wake County is a lot like the above photo, wide two lane mostly hard dirt. In Chatham County it has a large two lane paved section with a smaller gravel area. In Durham County it is now under construction and was recently paved two lane. This is in my opinion the most enjoyable trail to walk or ride in the Triangle area.... if you have not had the pleasure of using it before now is your chance!!
White Oak has a large parking area, hopefully on a Saturday morning it will not be overflowing with vehicles. We will be leaving at 10:10 Sharp, if you are late you will be left behind!! We should return by 12:15-12:30 or so.
Directions to White Oak:
From High House & NC 55 Intersection (Cary)- High House turns into Green Level Rd W. Take Green Level Rd W and turn right onto White Oak Church Rd. Look for parking area on your right
From NC 751(Durham)- Turn left on Lewter Shop Rd (into Wake Co) and then make right on White Oak Church Rd. Look for parking area on your left

Since we have not had anyone volunteer to help with the carpool back to White Oak from Durham, we will need to adjust this hike to an out and back route instead of the 3 counties hiking out and carpooling back. We will still be meeting at White Oak.
