Photowalk at the Elmwood Cemetery

Mike (or Karen.. ) brought up a really great point this morning. The map that Meetup is providing isn't working properly - or something. I went to the Elmwood Cemetery website, and they offer a map that is clearly correct.

Please use this map, as it will actually get you to the cemetery.

See you all tomorrow!

Amy

This is one of the oldest, most beautiful cemetery's around. Home to the past Rich, Famous and Political of Detroit. It is also still in operation, so it should be a fabulous place to shoot.

We'll meet at the front gates and go from there.

I was reviewing the pictures from Elmwood and while I am a bit biased I was pleased with how they turned out. Next time I'm going to bring a flash with me

Mt. Elliot is a completely different cemetery separated by a fence. The entrance to Elmwood is off of Robert Bradby (McDougall to the east). There is a church on the corner of Lafayette and Robert Bradby and the entrance to Elmwood is behind the church. It might be best to meet in the far church parking lot to the left and then go in together or even consolidate into fewer cars entering the cemetery for respect. There isn't really parking throughout the cemetery. You have to pull over to the side of the narrow roads and a lot of cars would not be a great idea. It is certainly a lovely place to walk.

I think that sounds like a good idea.

Mt. Elliot entrance says it is Elliot Cemetery...my search takes me from the other side of the cemetery, by way of Robert Bradby Dr. So are we meeting at the entrance off of Mt. Elliot?

Yes Amy, it is my first Meetup. I'm pretty new to all the settings. Doing pretty good playing around but could use some help. I may take a class. It's hard to fit into my schedule. Looking forward to the cemetery...... I hear there may be ghosts too! LOL

Is there a cost for this?

    February 10, 2014

    • Amy

Elizabeth, I am not charging for any photowalks or for most events (aside from workshops and special events) this year. What I've done instead is I'm requiring that everyone that would like to attend a meetup this year pay a small fee to join the group for the whole year. For details - please look here: http://www.meetup.com...

      Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
