If you ask me...

  • Butler's Pantry

For the January event, let's do essays, criticism and opinion pieces.  From Michel de Montaigne to Charles Lamb to Mark Twain to George Bernard Shaw to George Orwell to Roger Ebert...

As usual, if you want to read something off-topic or you'd rather just listen, that's OK with us.  And if you want to read your own writing, so much the better!

Butler's Pantry is in Mirvish Village, just southwest of Honest Ed's, near the Bathurst subway station.

I loved hearing pieces that I might not choose myself.
Looking forward to a quieter venue next time. Thanks to all listeners, readers and performers.

Great readings and a dynamic group. Just wish it was a bit quieter so we could focus.

Absolutely the Best! I was awed by the zing of the choices and the zest of the readings, and the artistry of
the original poetry! Thanks to James once again!

I thought the people who attended were interesting and lively, and enjoyed being with them.

    question? If
    I do attend it
    will be my
    first time.
    As I must
    arrange my
    return driver,
    may I ask how
    long to
    Thanks and

I'm really looking forward to this event? Can I read a piece by Jane Austen?

I definitely want to come to this event. I have never timed the piece I should like to read, however I will time myself and get back to you.

Will the pantry owner let us stay there to read out loud? How long is the seating limit there?

We've never had any trouble before.
