======1. An evening with Steve Townshend=====
Only a few days left until this unique event!http://www.rpgchicago.com/calendar/11248142/
Come join us for an RPGChicago exclusive!
Steve Townshend will be talking with us about his experiences writing for Wizards of the Coast. A chance for you to ask some of your burning questions about how you might be able to get your work noticed!
His upcoming (2010) design credits include: Monster Manual 3, Demonomicon, and Dungeon Masters Guide 3, and further contributions to Dragon Magazine.
Steve Townshend was a professional actor for many years before he switched to writing. He started playing D&D in 1982 and began DMing in earnest in 1991. Steve enjoys running character and story-oriented games with strong narrative arcs. His work has appeared in Polyhedron, Dragon Magazine, and the Wizards of the Coast web site.
======2. Our first GM Clinic======
Patrick Benson of GnomeStew.com will be running our first GM Clinic in early October (dates to be added soon). The topic of discussion will be "keeping the momentum going"... managing combat and other events more effectively to keep your players entertained. More details to come.
======3. D&D Game Day======
Its the third and final D&D Game Day of the year! Galactic Force and Chicagoland Games are both hosting sessions, as is Games Plus and possibly Black Sun (not on the calendar?). Get out and play some fun one-shot games with fellow hack&slashers!
See the Calendar for more details: www.rpgchicago.com/calendar
======4. RPGChicago Map======
Its filling in, but we still have a lot of people to add! If you haven't added yourself to our Google Map, please do so! RPGChicago on Google Maps
It's pretty simple once you know how, but not user intuitive at the start.
1. Open the RPGChicago map
2. Search for your address in the box above the map. If you don't want to use your specific address, just use your ZIP code or a nearby address.
3. Click the link for your address in the left bar
4. On the right, click the "Save to My Maps" link in the balloon over your address
5. You can now "Edit" the entry to include your personal info (games you're running, systems you're familiar with, days of the week you can play).
======5. GMs requested for LutherCon======
LutherCon (Oct 3rd & 4th) is looking for more GMs to help run events. http://www.hmgsmidwest.com/LC%20events.html
That's it for now! Hope to see you at an event soon!
