RPG Update 9/22 - 60 Days to ChiTag

From: Nate S.
Sent on: Tuesday, September 22, 2009 10:50 PM
Hi folks,

Here's the weekly update!

1. Conventions!
2. Steve Townshend rescheduled
3. Our next big meetup mashup on 10/5, with more zombies!
4. Other stuff!

We have convention-palooza coming over the next 2 weekends.

This weekend (9/26 & 27) includes:

1. The Fall Gaming Hoopla in Lake Geneva, WI

2. The Berwyn Gamers Mini-Con

3. Conception in Glen Ellyn, IL

And the following weekend (10/3 & 4) is

1. LutherCon, including a Settlers of Catan tournament hosted by Cat N Mouse

2. The Chicago Hauntings Conference - OK, so its not board games. Its still cool and I am going to be hosting a table there on Friday.

Also noting from the subject line: today marks 60 days to the Chicago Toy and Game Fair. Its Chicago's largest toy and game convention, and this year its not to be missed. Mark November 21st and 22nd on your calendars folks. Its going to be big.

=====Steve Townshend rescheduled=====

Our first guest speaker was moved to 9/28 due to a scheduling conflict at Chicagoland Games. I hope you can make it!

=====Meetup Mashup on 10/5!=====

On 10/5, we'll have our next big meetup mashup! Our last event pulled in 81 people, this time around we're going to be a little more organized about it.

The horror group will be taking a larger chunk of the space this time. They'll be running a makeup workshop... come as a human, leave as a zombie!

We'll be focusing on more short-format and easy to teach/learn games. If you're bringing games to this event, I'm going to ask that you run a 1-shot and preferably with a Halloween theme (though this is hardly required).

=====Other Stuff!=====

If you need help getting on the Google Map (can't figure it out), just Email me what you want up there and I'll take care of it. If you don't want to be on the map, that's cool too.

Our first monthly giveaway will be drawn next week out of RSVPs that used the September keyword. If you missed the original post, its on the message board.

In fact, you should scope out the message boards, period! They're really quite active.

That's all for now! Thanks for being a member!
