Advanced Piloting

For those of you that have completed the Piloting class, this course builds on what you learned in that class to further improve your piloting skills to take on the challenges of unfamiliar waters, limited visibility, changing tides and currents, and extended cruises.

GPS, radar, chart plotters, and other electronic navigation tools are covered and hands-on exercises help advance student skills. Instruction is presented in 2-3 hour segments weekly, for a total of 10 weeks. We assume that you have completed Piloting and still have the Weekend Navigator book which we use in this course. If you do not have a copy of the "Weekend Navigator", the costs for the course will be $80 for members and $160 for non-members. You will need your navigational plotting tools and if you don't have these, they can be purchased at discount through USPS.

Contact Burt Pearson, the instructor, before April 1'st if you are interested in this class: [masked]

Burt must build a materials list to cover each student's special needs before class starts and we need 10 days to get the order into HQ and processed.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
