Pirate's Cruise with Cape Lookout Squadron

  • Oct 26, 2013 · 8:00 AM
  • South River

Come on out for the famous year-end Pirate Cruise to South River. This year, the Cape Lookout Sail and Power Squadron and RSPS will join ranksfor this event. Some may choose to rendezvous at New Bern or Oriental on Fri before the cruise over on Sat. Dress up in your best Pirate costume (optional) and be ready to feast on great food for an overnight anchor. Boats of all sizes and types, sail, power, ski boats, cruisers, come out to the calm waters of South River for a normally very nice and not so cold evening. Each year several boats show up for this Anchor Raft up. The casual agenda is to meet at South River by mid-afternoon Saturday fully dressed in Pirate Garb - you will not have to walk the plank if you do not have a costume this year. Bring your favorite meats, and cook em upon the grill - steaks, hamburgers, sausages, and hot-dogs and serve them up with our pot-luck sides from each boat. After dark we normally try to show a Pirate Movie while sipping on our favorite Ale, Wine or drink.
For those of you so inclined, you may want to spend the prior Fri evening at a marina in New Bern or Oriental, and cruise on over to South River on Sat.
Come for what may be the last cruise of 2012 and enjoy the company of your fellow RSPS cruisers while rafted together at South River.
South River is located on the south side of the Neuse River past Adams Creek coming from New Bern;&n bsp; South East of Oriental.
In the past we have anchored at N[masked] W[masked] However, this changes year to year based on any wind and the first boat to arrive.
