Develop relationships with businesses/individuals devoted to social good and work together to help our communities transform. Inspire and encourage each other in best practices and innovative ideas.
I played soccer against at University of Richmond Professor, Thad Williamson, who I met for the first time, but is very committed to local politics and involved in the Mayor's Anti-Poverty Commission. It's exciting to see someone like him putting ideas into action.
I'm originally from Nashville, but came to Richmond in 2005 for college. I've lived here every summer since I came here, and Richmond is the first city where I have felt that I am learning the pulse of the city--what is going on here and how we can work together to make it better. I've spent some time away at various points. I spent a year studying Arabic in Jordan and just finished my MA in Chicago last June. I've been back in Richmond since last June, and couldn't be happier to be here for the foreseeable future. After working for the Obama campaign, my work at BrandSync has given me a new means to work for social good through doing strategic marketing for our clients who are all involved in important work that is improving our city. It's so exciting to be involved in communities such as RVA Social Entrepreneurs that are inspiring everyone to work together to make our city better.
I moved to Richmond in 2005 for college. It keeps pulling me back and I'm most passionate about connecting all of my experiences here and in other places together to creatively figure out solutions.
