True sandlot-style baseball! All ages and skill levels welcome, male and female. No pressure. Slow to medium pitch speed. Feel free to bring your own gear, but we do have an assortment of communal bats, helmets, baseballs, and extra gloves just in case. Our regular field is at Clark Springs Elementary, now with dugout shelters!
How does it work? We gather at the field by the start time to warm up and throw with a partner. Team captains are volun-chosen, and there's a schoolyard pick to decide the teams. Then play ball! After the game, we typically head out for food, drinks, and fun.
PLEASE...if you RSVP for a game, we expect you to make it out. We aren't that serious in sandlot, but we are serious about attendance. It isn't much fun not having two full teams. Sandlot is most fun with 18-20 people. If you can't make it to a game after all, please change your RSVP to No as soon as you can.
We typically play 7 innings or as long as time and people permit. Umps are on a volunteer basis, as numbers of participants allow. (we like for everyone to volunteer at least once per season).
PLEASE NOTE: Given that the games are played at Clark Springs Elementary School, the consumption of alcoholic beverages before, during, and/or after games on school grounds (including the parking lot) is NOT PERMITTED under any circumstances.
