“ I liked the event. I like more conventional work in a social atmosphere. I did not improve my work tonight, but did have fun! ”

“ A lot of fun as well as being educational . I was thinking--Liz said something about the drink and draw group making mats for the exquisite corps drawings. I wonder if we could make the frames as well. If we do I may be able to bring a table saw. It would be a lot cheaper and definitely more rewarding. Maybe we could all contribute something. You know, like glitter or something. Any thing. use your imagination. It would be the stone soup of picture frames. ”

“ I am so glad I went to this meet up. Not only did I have a lot of fun sketching our model, I also had a chance to see fellow artists at work. I will set aside my 3rd Thursday of the month in order to have more figure drawing. Thanks, Drink and Draw and Dr. Sketchy's. ”

“ I think I received more nourishment from my exchanges and commeroderie from this gathering, than any I have found in a number of years. I networked for help with a clay studio which I have been searching, learned of show opportunities, was inspired by seeing Helene Ruiz's magnificent work, my mind was tweaked and opened up for new directions, and I developed some new goals. All of this broke my isolation from living in an artless area. I need these exchanges in the worst way. I have been a full time artist for many years, in many places, but I don't think any group I have experienced has had this much to offer. I will definitely continue (this was my first time), particularly if meetings are in locations which meet nearer travel wise from my home, like in Mechanicsville. I live out on the Northern Neck, and going to W. Broad at night is a hardship for me. I am so greatful for Helene hosting, it has made all the difference in the world. This is definitely worth doing. Thanks. ”

“ It's a lot of fun and a great way to improve your drawing skills. The drawing challenges give you the opportunity to draw purely from memory or imagination -- something I don't do enough of. And you get to meet people with varied artistic backgrounds. ”
