Introduction to Docker

Jamie Duncan, Senior Technical Account Manager at Red Hat, is a leader on the Public Sector Technical Account Management team. He enjoys long walks on the beach, has too many pets for one house, a wonderful wife, and likes to be considered a Linux generalist -- that is, he knows a lot about a lot :)

About the Presentation:

Wrinkle-Free Docker takes a practical look at Docker and its ecosystem with a goal of making a new Docker user confident enough to experiment with the tool.
It provides a solid background on important container concepts and gives real-world examples that can be immediately applied to a test system.

I received a message from Collins in the Java meetup group on another Docker presentation at UofR Wednesday night.

I just saw the Docker presentation scheduled for Saturday with the RVALUG meetup. I thought you might be interested in the RJUG talk on Docker and Vagrant scheduled for Wednesday night at University of Richmond. We'd love to have you or anyone you know in this area who may be interested in this topic. http://www.meetup.com/Richmond-Java-Users-Group/events/202022502/

I'm a first-timer, is there anything in particular I should bring? Are there any group dues?

just bring yourself! some folks bring along a laptop, but there's no specific reason to and no need for one. absolutely no group dues!
