Sunday racing at SHYC

Hi, I am Peter
My company own's a 45ft Mca cat2 racing yacht called Hurricane and I am able to charter her at preferential rates for some events if she has not already been booked.
I have an option to charter her for a series of races on Sunday mornings racing out of Eastbourne in surrey where she is kept for the winter. The races are short inshore races round the cans, Starting at approx 8.30 am finishing approx 3.00 pm.

    Hi Gary
asymmetric spinnakers can be rigged both ways for inside if you have a bowsprit if not or the breeze is above 20knts most will rig for an outside gybe. If going for an outside gybe either the kite or the pole has a short length of batten attached to catch the lazy sheet during the gybe. If you don't have these fitted the bowman runs back and holds the lazy sheet making sure it is pulled inboard of the guard rail and pulpit preventing it from going under the boat it is all about preparation and how the boat is rigged.
A good bowman after plugging in the kite will always run the lines to check they are correct before he calls ready for the hoist. Another common mistake is to get the halyard through the fore triangle.

Wondering if someone can help; When rigging an asymmetric spinnaker ready for launch. I want to ensure that the sheet is between the forestay and the luff of the spinnaker itself (rigged for 'inside').
When I'm prepping on the deck, do I connect the Tack last / over the top of the sheet to ensure this happens? I've had limited experience with Asymmetric Spinny's and on a few occasions the sheet has ended up outside, resulting in panic that the sheet was going to jump over the end of the bowsprit and end up in the water whenever we gybed!!!
