Introduction

I am Jessica and I am most definitely a feminist who would like to partake in a more active role in promoting feminism and other equality-related ideals.

What are your thoughts about and stance on feminism and sex equality?

I think that feminism, simply being the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men, needs to be a given in our society. Masculinity and femininity are constructs that need to be recognized for what they are: constructs, man-made ideas of appropriate actions based on the idea that your genitalia should define your behavior. I would love to see a world where these man-made rules are eradicated.

Do you have any background in activism (feminist or otherwise)?

I actively volunteer for a grass-roots LGBT non-profit.

What social issues do you strongly care about?

I am a huge proponent of equal rights for all, healthcare equality, environmental conservation, very focused on women's equality and LGBT issues.

Hi Jessica - Welcome to Radical Feminists! I would love to see that day too when male supremacy no longer reigns and we can really see how human beings can relate to each other without sexist power constructs.
