The mission of the Rainbow Alliance of Delmarva (RAD) is to provide a safe haven for the social, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional needs of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBTQ) community and their allies in the Delmarva area.
Our 90 plus members seem to reside from south of Easton and to north of Chestertown Maryland and we welcome everyone; friends, allies, and families! A LGBT connection may be the interest link, but primarily we hope folks will simply socialized, have some fun, and get to know one another.
NEW Fall 2014 Anyone is welcome to post an event. YOU are part of what will make this group work or not...read on to help get this group more active! We need to do more! Maybe we need to rsvp and rate our gatherings more. Some are great and others have been no shows. Let's get it together, your leaders need your energy.
Beginning this fall, the PFLAG Chestertown Chapter (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians, Gays and the Transgender Communities) leaders will announce their activities on this meet-up group. Some will be only social, others will offer support, advocacy and educational opportunities. You are most welcome to attend any of these PFLAG events at any time! (PFLAG Membership is optional.) Check out thier new website and calendar www.pflagchestertown.com and add your name to recieive updates posted by the chapter.
The group was started by 8 people who regularly attend the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Easton and now includes the Welcoming Congregation Group from the Chester River UU's in the Chestertown area. The meet-up and PFLAGactivities on this siteare not religiously affiliated so please join us no matter what your denomination.
So....let's plan some simple fun and see who shows up! How about a Sat am walk down the Easton rails to trails path beginning at the train station heading to the ball fields? Maybe a Friday afternoon gathering on the outdoor patio at Doc's Grille in Centreville? A paddle down the Tuckahoe starting at the State Park? How about the Downrigging Festival in Chestertown? Make it easy and something you want to do anyway. Wear a bit of rainbow something and find your fellow meet up folks! We will keep a good eye on things to ensure our meetups are primarily family friendly, low cost and fun. ENJOY!
