EGYPTIAN ORIENTAL WITH LALITA ~ 12:30 - 2:00 PM
Pique and Pirouette: Making your Dance More Exciting With Spins & Turns
Turns and Spins add variation to your movement. In this workshop, learn tips and technique to incorporate beautiful turns and breathtaking spins into all aspects of your dance.
TRIBAL FUSION WITH TASCHEN ~ 2:30 - 4:00 PM
Snake Bites and Smooth Coils
Explore the basic elements of improvisational Tribal Fusion. We will practice drills aimed to strengthen our bodies and dance technique as well as play with fun combinations you can use in daily practice and performance. Both the technique and combinations will be an overview of the smooth and sensual movements of tribal belly dance (our smooth coils), complemented by quick and sharp isolations (and powerful snake bites). Please bring water, a yoga mat (not required but can be useful), and an open mind ready to learn and play. All levels welcome!
