This is a group for anyone interested in learning to run or if you tried in the past and it didn't quite work out for you.
I started this group to help promote running with first time and beginner runners who may have pushed it too hard from the start. This is an 8 week program and we will begin with a combination of Walking and Running intervals in order to give your body time to develop the key muscles to carry you to 5k with ease and lots of instructions and encouragement!
We will meet 2 times a week for 8 weeks on "Mondays and Thursdays" and you will be required to repeat Thursday's meetup on your own or get together with the group for a total of 3 workouts a week beginning June 1, 2015 - Please RSVP as early as possible.
Our meeting place will be at the Raleigh Greenway entrance directly behind McDonald's located at 4121 Blue Ridge Road and Crabtree Valley Av in the grassy parking area.
If you are a good runner and have an interest in increasing 5k speed or distance - this group can help you achieve those goals. You may start at the beginning or jump in on week 5 for training.
First week is a Trial Week with no obligations.
2015 Fee is $80.00 with 1/2 Due by Week 2 - Day 1 first and the second 1/2 is due on or before the beginning of Week 5. Paid dues include free repeats of the Couch to 5k Program and the year membership fee.
