9/11 Day of Service - Evening Commemoration + Service Project

Join us for the Evening Commemoration of Activate Raleigh 2013, the community-wide 9/11 Day of Service on Wednesday, September 11 coordinated by Activate Good and the Downtown Raleigh Alliance honoring those lost on 9/11 with volunteerism and acts of kindness around Raleigh and the Triangle.

Starting at 6:00 PM on September 11, locals will convene at the Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh for an Evening Commemoration and Service Projects. There will also be live music by Mary Selvidge and The Chris Hendricks Band and words from Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane and Activate Good as we wrap up the Day of Service. Participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to 'fill-the-truck' for the Urban Ministries of Wake County food pantry (list of requested foods: http://activategood.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Healthy-Food-Pantry-Bag.pdf).

Are you all going for the event at 6pm? Or are you doing one of the volunteer events during the day too?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
