There is an excellent event being put on by The Abundance Foundation, the Wild Food + Herb Market (https://www.facebook.com/WildFoodAndHerb) happening once a month at the Carrboro Commons through November.
I made this event a series until the event ends in November. I will update the exact dates prior to each event.
Details are as follows:
The next Wild Food + Herb Market is April 7th from 1-4 PM and will include Carrboro's first-ever Picnic-In! Bring food, get some wild ingredients from the market, spread out a blanket and take in the live music and the sunshine. There will also be a talk and cooking demo provided by mushroom picker and educator, Alan Muscat (NoTasteLikeHome.org) at 2 PM. Wildcrafters, foodies, chefs, and picnic-lovers won’t want to miss this.
The Wild Food + Herb Market takes place one Sunday afternoon each month on the Carrboro Commons from March through November from 1‐4 PM.
The Wild Food + Herb Market is a “farmers” market featuring foragers, herbalists, wild food cultivators and local plant educators, all coming together to celebrate the wild plants and people of the North Carolina Piedmont.
The Wild Food + Herb Market receives organizational support from The Abundance Foundation.

The Wild Food + Herb Market provides wild food and medicinal herb enthusiasts a place to buy, sell, trade and gather with others interested in wild foods and herbs.
The market offers folks the resources to learn more about wild plants of the Piedmont and their uses, how to identify and harvest wild foods and herbs sustainably, and have the opportunity to ask experts to identify edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms.
Knowledge of the incredible resources that local plants offer both in terms of food and medicine serves to help people feel more connected to the land and other living things in their communities. We protect and care for what we value and feel connected to. We want the Wild Food + Herb Market to be not only a marketplace, but also place where people with similar interests can gather and learn from each other.
The market is currently seeking sponsorships and vendors for the market on a rolling basis. More information: http://theabundancefoundation.org/wild-food-herb-market
