Crafting for A Cause, Help Ronald McDonald House of Durham

> Hello Crafty People!
> Some you may not know that I volunteer for the Durham Ronald McDonald House and I sure those of you who do get tired of me talking about how much I love working there, anyway.........

> Here's the Scoop:
y >
> I have arranged to use the community room at the RMHC of Durham on The first Saturday of each month from 12pm to 6pm. The address is 506 Alexander Avenue, Durham, NC.
> In order for us to use this room, we have to bring an item or items from the house wish list. There are 3 ways to do this.
> 1. you can visit the wishlist at and purchase any of these items and bring it to the crop .
> 2. Please visit our brand new wish list. Anything that you purchase on Amazon will be directly shipped to the House. You can view the wishlist here: Please bring your receipt to the crop.
> 3. You can make a tax deductible donation to the house while at the crop.
> Keeping the House stocked with basic home necessities requires a lot of donated food and supplies. Every few months, the wish list is updated with needed food items, household goods, sample size toiletries or office supplies.
> This will be a monthly event. All crops are the 1st Saturday of every month, 12pm-6pm so please mark your calendar.
> There are plenty of tables there and there will be a Big shot, Cricut, some cartridges, cutting tools and punches available for use.
> There will be refreshments available, they have an ice machine and there is a coke machine available cost is 0.25 per drink. Please bring your own cup to avoid using the house supplies.
> Whole Foods and several other places to purchase food are very close to the house, or we can bring items to munch on.
> To RSVP, please email or call me at Tbuchholz@... In order for this to work you cannot contact the house directly. The phone there rings non-stop as it is so, I will be coordinating this event. It is open to everyone. I hope you will consider coming to a brand new room where we can get together and also help the Ronald McDonald House.

    It was great as usual!

It was wonderful and productive. The only problem was a child who was not controlled by his Mom and was somewhat destructive (fortunately, no real damage). The other children were OK, but only because the volunteers at the crop took their time to do crafts with them.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
