Games + Snacks = Fun!

Pretty simple formula. The game of choice for this event is Dominion. It is a pretty easy game to learn the mechanics of. We will have a few base sets and different flavors of expansions. If you are good with Euro style games then you should pick it up real quick.

If you haven't played before and are interested in getting a head start, them be the rules: Rule Book

I share a driveway with my neighbor. Park 3 cars wide on the left side. If there is no more room then you can park on Orchard which is the road two houses down toward the east.

Hey, this will be my first meet up and I wanted to introduce myself. How steep is the learning curve on dominion?

I learned it in one game

You can learn the mechanics by the time you get through half a game. Learning to win is another story ;)

We will likely be playing some expansions alongside of the original game. Please ponder over which expansion interests you the most. Here are some of the expansions available to us:

Intrigue: This expansion is a little more attack-heavy than the original game, and also features victory cards with an in-game effect.

Prosperity: This expansion is focused on BIG money. It adds a new treasure card (Platinum) that costs 9 and is worth 5 coins. There is also a new victory card (Colony) than costs 11 and is worth 10 victory points.

Dark Ages: This large expansion is arguably the most complicated expansion and can be difficult to master. It focuses on building "something from nothing" and features many useless cards (ruins) that clog-up your deck. It also focuses on trashing cards and upgrading stuff.

Guilds: This small expansion features coin tokens that can be saved and spent on a later turn. Each card represents a trade -- examples include Butcher, Baker, and Candlestick Maker.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
