D & D Encounters is an exciting, weekly campaign that plays out one epic encounter at a time. As you defeat enemies, solve puzzles, finish quests, and perform heroic deeds, you'll earn Renown Points that you can use to get exclusive rewards. Each session only takes 1 - 2 hours to play! You are not required to participate each week to be a part of it so please, feel free to join the group any week you are available to do so!

What to bring with you? You will need a 7 piece set of polyhedral dice for gameplay. You will also need to create and bring your own 1st level character with you! If you don't have time or don't know how, don't worry, we have some pre-built characters available that you can use! Ask your DM and they will be happy to get you one! If you have access to the D & D Character Builder, you can create your own character there as well!!

Learning, Leveling Up and Earning Rewards: Each week, as you learn the system and face monsters and overcome obstacles, you'll gain experience points that will enable you to eventually level up your character. if you manage to play most or all of the session in the season, you can hit 4th level by the conclusion of the story!

Additional GMs are always needed! If you are interested, please contact Crystal at [masked].

On behalf of Beautiful Larry, Sir Moonbeam, Señor Robe, and myself, I'd like to thank everyone at my table for participating in this season of Encounters. It was a pleasure to DM for and play with you. You all kept the story moving along, kicked ass, and had more than a few laughs along the way. See you all next time!

Somewhat anticlimactic and foreboding at the same time, but over all very much fun.

Anticlimactic? I suppose if you call the world being on the brink of domination by a giant invincible spider from another realm anticlimactic, then sure. Tough crowd...

What god does your PC worship? Do you think it is more LawBringer or Old Faith?

      April 2, 2013

    • ~Robert H.

RedJen, for the purposes of this Encounters campaign, Wizards has created two "faiths" that NPCs and PCs may be aligned with. For RP purposes, it's recommended that you choose a religious affiliation: (1) Lawbringer, The Lawbringer represents justice, law, battle, commerce, strength, civilization, and order. OR (2) Old Faith. The Old Faith represents nature, balance, magic, the primal energies, luck, fate, and the wildness of life. *3)You may also choose to be unaffiliated.* Any way you choose, be prepared for that choice to color the way NPCs react to you.

Sorry, but I will not be able to attend this event.

Looks like RedJenOSU could fill the healer role though.

@Lucas, does your other friend want to join this game session? His name started with a J right? like John/Jon? Or am I wrong on that?

    March 28, 2013

    • Lucas H.

You're right his name is John, i've got to ask him if he wants to play encounters, i might have him start next season but it's up to him, i'll let you know before next tuesday

@Robert H. Can I use the Divine Power's Healing Mercy Channel?

I would definitely play a Cleric. May even tempt the "pacifist" route if the campaign is murderous, but I'd rather not.

Either way is fine. We have played 6 games so far but we really need a sub. for our normal healer for this game. This is the game before the Finale. You would be welcome to play in that too. Having an extra healer in that one could help out too.

A pacifist cleric build takes the already potent cleric and boosts the healing up a notch. I think AJ is partly referring to the feat "Pacifist Healer." It grants an extra 1d6 HP to cleric heals that allow PCs to spend a surge. The tradeoff is that if the cleric damages a bloodied enemy, the cleric is stunned until the end of his next turn. My wife is actually playing a pacifist cleric and throws out some immense heals. She's also enjoying the character roleplay choice of playing a pacifist. I would say that this Encounters is a fine story to have such a character.

@AJ I will take you at my table if you would not mind playing a PC with healing power of some sort. We do not have our Cleric nor Bard this time. A Healing "Leader" Role PC is needed at my table. I can make your PC if needed. LEVEL 3 = D&D 4E

While I have a basic understanding of 4E, I have not played with the rule set yet, but this is my attempt to get into it.
