D&D Encounters: War of Everlasting Darkness (4th level PCs)

Please join us at The Gamer’s Armory on Wednesday Nights for D & D Encounters: War of Everlasting Darkness (beginning October 24, 2012 (Character Creation) and running 8 weeks of gaming  through December 19, 2012) from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

GMS for this Season will be as follows:
Wendy McLaren
Kenneth McNay (Bring a 4th level PC)

D & D Encounters is an exciting, weekly campaign that plays out one epic encounter at a time. You defeat enemies, solve puzzles, finish quests, and perform heroic deeds. Each session only takes 1.5 - 2 hours to play! You are not required to participate each week to be a part of it so please, feel free to join the group any week you are available to do so!

What to bring with you? You will need a 7 piece set of polyhedral dice for game play.

You will also need to create and bring your own 1st level character with you! If you don't have time or don't know how, don't worry, we have some pre-built characters available that you can use! Ask your Dungeon Master (DM) and they will be happy to get you one! If you have access to the D & D Character Builder, you can create your own character there as well!!

Learning, Leveling Up and Earning Rewards: Each week, as you learn the system and face monsters and overcome obstacles, you'll gain experience points that will enable you to level up your character. (1 LEVEL/WEEK)

If you manage to play most or all of the session in the season, you can hit 8th level by the conclusion of the story!

Additional backup GMs are always needed!

One other thing I'd like to say about my players: I'm getting really helpful feedback on what works and what doesn't. With their input, together we are able to direct the games towards a goal that is fun for all of us. It is truly OUR game.

    I really enjoyed the session.

Other than WoTC trying to cram too much stuff into each week's session, it was a blast. My players are awesome.

@Scott - remember your dice. You're gonna need 'em. I'm bringing my TPK dice set.

Repeat: I'll be running session 3 and 4 during this week 4; players should bring a lvl 4 PC. Players need not have a separate lvl 3 PC sheet.

Kenneth, you might have a young man at your table who has not RSVP'ed. He is not a memeber of RTR but shows up @ Game Armory. You might have met him already. I am not sure of his name.(Maybe someone else remembers...) *Patrick's players have not played the 3rd nor 4th level part either so they and the new players are all yours!

What's the system and what character classes are there? (Which ones does the party need most of?)

      Is this 4th Edition?

      November 20, 2012

    • Alex M.

      Yes it is 4th

I'll go ahead and cap the RSVP count so Patrick can enjoy the holiday with his family. Still a couple more spots open.

Unless we get too many players for two tables, I would like to take this week off. My father is coming in to visit for Thanksgiving and he gets in Wednesday afternoon.

I can change the RSVP number if you need me to, Patrick. @Kenneth, are you for certain going to GM this week?

      November 17, 2012

    • Kenneth M.

I will be present for certain and will be happy to step in as back-up. I've been waiting for my moment! I've been such a dutiful understudy.

@Alex, are you coming to play?

    November 17, 2012

    • Alex M.

Wasn't planning on it. The meetup adds me in case a backup is needed. Will change rsvp

Tip of the week: Since PCs level up at the end of every session you have the chance to retrain each week. If there’s a skill you find has been needed each week that you’re not good at, retrain it. If there’s a feat (maybe a combat feat) that you’re not using that much or isn’t making any noticeable difference, take something else (like skill training). Worse case scenario you retrain and realize you don’t like the change so you change back next week. Retraining can be exceptionally useful so don’t overlook it when you level up.--- from dungeonsmaster.com

Much like Kenneth, I missed the week prior and will be running sessions 3 & 4. Feel free to bring only your Level 4 character sheet; I will adjust the third session's combat to compensate.

As we are fitting a double session in, I would like to start right at 6:30 to give enough time to move through both of them.

I'm running session 3 and 4, since I'm missing the week prior to this.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
