Tarzan and Jane Book Club

This is a book club for singles (40s,50s,60s), with emphasis on learning about relationships.  Books that we have read in the past touched on love languages, loving yourself, dating, marriage, gender differences, and difficult relationships.  If you are suddenly single and wanting to know how to meet others or just want to know how you can have healthy relationships, then this group may meet your needs.  It is an open discussion of issues with both genders.  Attendees are welcome to participate or just listen without sharing.

We will be meeting once a month on the first Thursday,  evenings from 7:30 to 9 pm at our home in Raleigh (Susan and Daryl).  Our first meeting of the new year will be on January 3rd.   I have a compilation of notes from the books we have previously read. I will need to email those notes to you so please send me your email address. It is not absolutely necessary to have read the chapter we will cover but it helps. I will have extra copies for those who are not able to print off a copy. You are welcome to attend even if you never attended in the past.  New members are always welcome.

Please RSVP to Daryl Bowman at [masked] or[masked] mobile.

I had rsvp that I would be attending but I will be getting home late so I won't be able to make it tonight. I will be there next month and I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. Will you please let me know the discussion of tonight so I will be prepared for next month? Thank you.

How did God create us? Male and female. How do we think others should react? Like we do.
With this thinking, what happens in a marriage or any relationship with the opposite gender? We become demanding, resentful, judgmental, and intolerant. What happens to communication? Trust? Goes down. Men and women think differently.

What are the three biggest frustrations women have with men?
    1. Won’t listen
    2. Won’t talk
    3. Won’t commit
What are the three biggest frustrations men have with women?
    1. Unrealistic expectations
    2. Mixed signals
    3. Need to read their minds

Through understanding of ourselves and the opposite gender, we can more successfully give and receive love that is in our hearts. By accepting our differences, solutions can be discovered where we can succeed in our relationships.
