A group for young adult members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and other young adults from any faith (or non-faith) background who are interested in Quakerism. We define young adult as roughly 18 - 35, and our goal is to have fun, build relationships among younger Friends, participate in the life of local Friends Meetings and the wider Quaker community, and support each other in exploring how we live out our beliefs in the world.
Events posted to this meetup may include local and regional Quaker events and other events of interest to Friends, as well as social, community service, or Quaker worship events organized specifically for members of this group.
If you are new to Quakerism, you should know that beliefs among Friends are very diverse, and that this group welcomes participation of people from any faith (or non-faith) background who are interested in Quakerism. Here is some basic information about Quakers from the "liberal" arm of Quakerism: http://www.fgcquaker.org/what-are-quakers
If you are an experienced Friend, you should know that the founders of this meetup group come from the liberal tradition, but we welcome and encourage the participation of Friends from all branches of Quakerism!
