We use Go Local Produce -- http://www.golocalproduce.com/  Similar idea, but the produce comes from the Raleigh Farmers Market, so there are some regional additions, like Virginia apples and Florida grapefruit. They are great!!!

Check out Papa Spuds ( papaspuds.com ) - they provide home delivery of produce, bread, grains, dairy, meats, mushrooms and more produced by various local farms, along with farmer bios and information on varieties and lots of other great information. I love shopping at the farmers market on the weekends (in fact, I'll be a market manager starting next month!), but I also really love the convenience of a Papa Spuds delivery mid-week and my broader reach to local farms. I've been really happy with Papa Spuds since I became a customer at their startup 4 years ago.

That's a great idea, Deborah.  I sent this email to a friend of mine who has a business transporting organic produce from the farm to grocery stores and co-ops.  She might be able to set up something like this with one or more of her farmers.  I'll let you know what she says.

When I was a child one of the neighbors made his income by using a truck from which he sold fresh produce-vegetables, fruits, and melons. He drove around the neighborhoods selling the foods from his truck.

It will be helpful for many of us people, who do not own an auto, for there to be such farmers market on wheels now. I live in Durham near the Durham Regional Hospital area. Are there any local area farmers who would be willing to begin such a farmers market on wheels to deliver foods in my area?
