The Raleigh Rock Climbing Meetup“ Anyone who has ever wanted to go to the gym/ a gym and climb, but gets there only to find that they are the third or fifth wheel should join this group. In a nutshell it sets you up to meet people who want to climb without the awkwardness of having to go up to strangers in the gym/ crag and ask to join in. I find this comes in very helpful for meeting women who are into climbing. When I approach them in the gym I sometimes worry that they think I am interested in them for reasons other than a climbing partner. The meetup solves that problem by letting me know who to look for in the gym; so that I am not walking up to strangers and imposing on them, or making them feel like my interests lie in anything other than climbing. ”
