It's probably a little too late for this year... but the Hound Ears bouldering competition is one of the coolest climbing events I have ever attended. Even if you aren't a V10 bouldering beast, it is a lot of fun just to watch some of the unbelievable talent on the boulders near Boone.

Past years' winners have included lots of big names.

Oct. 6th is the day of this years' comp. I should have looked it up earlier! Maybe next year we can make a pilgrimage.

If anyone is interested, I could probably weasel a way to get out there to boulder... but the fee is $50 and I can't really justify the cost this year when I probably wouldn't be able to climb many of the problems. If someone else wants to head out... definitely let me know, I could be talked into it.
